Northern Virginia Hip-Hop music artist sean IS… released his latest offering entitled The Rebrand on Tuesday, April 5, 2011. The project is a collection of recent works that center on self awareness and image from a standpoint of authenticity. “The Rebrand is my personal declaration of my state of being, whether it is broken or victorious,” states Sean. “I feel that this is my most complete solo project as it captures various aspects of my life and artistry. There is a mixture of overtly lyrical, battle rap and experiences that I have been through or observed. This is my music time capsule.”
The Rebrand consists of 12 songs incorporating a balance between original and industry productions. Primarily east coast sampling influenced, the project is however designed to take the listener through a musical journey through the mind and influences of the artist. The original material includes production from Kajmir Royale, who produced Lecrae’s Haiti relief song “Far Away”, and Juice 2020, who produced Sho Baraka’s “I.T.W.N.O.I.”. Remixes for Pharoahe Monch’s “Trilogy”, Kanye West’s “Dark Fantasy” and Kid Cudi’s “Mr. Rager” provide a glimpse of Sean’s sources for musical inspiration while interjecting his own style, delivery and opinions.
